The beauty and the touristic variety of the region give a numerous of possibilities to its visitors.

More to the inland, various thermal complexes and other hotel equipments permit tranquil days along with nature contact or the practice of sports such as golf, tennis, swimming and horse-riding.

The coast of the "Oeste" Tourism Region is a privileged area with beautiful fine sand beaches such as Valemitão, Porto Dinheiro, Porto de Barcas, Peralto, Areia Branca, Vale de Frades, Paimogo, Foz do Arelho, Lapinha, Rio Cortiço Praia d' El Rey, Lagide, Baleal and Consolação. Cut by steep cliffs standing side by side with beautiful countryside landscapes.

For a calm day, nothing like a walk along the Berlenga Island or the Óbidos Medieval Village following to the Lagoa de Obidos (lagoon) were you could watch the various water birds, practice windsurf, sailing and rowing. Finally you could go along the Atlantic coast up to the sand dunes at Salir do Porto.

By the Lagoa de Obidos the Foz do Arelho beach is very visited for its therapeutic qualities.

The road to the Cabo de Carvoeiro runs along the geological formations made by the sea, giving everyone who passes here an unforgettable trip through the beautiful scenery.

In Peniche two kilometres of fine sand beaches is an inviting view for a long walk on the shore.

The Consolação beach is connected to Peniche by an extensive sand area shaping a bay, in its centre called Médão Grande, great tubular waves are formed which are great for surf and body board practice.

The Wine Route will give a magnificent trip not only for the quality of the wines but also for the wonderful landscapes. The route is through the areas of Arruda dos Vinhos, Alenquer, Sobral de Monte Agraço, Torres Vedras, Lourinhã, Bombarral Cadaval, Óbidos, Caldas da Rainha and Rio Maior.

For those who enjoy pedestrianism, the Oeste Tourism Region elaborated 10 routes with 3 levels of difficulty (easy, medium, difficult) to show the magnificent natural beauty of some areas in the region like the Lagoa de Óbidos(Lagoon) Planalto de Cezaredas and the Serra de Montejunto.
